Preferred Provider Spotlight:

120Water Simplifying Compliance for California Water Systems

120Water recognizes that California water systems face some of the most complex monitoring landscapes in the country, juggling dozens of sampling programs simultaneously. Missed or late samples cause 75% of U.S. drinking water violations — not from lack of effort, but from managing changing requirements, scattered spreadsheets, and tools that can't keep up.

Our comprehensive solution provides kits, services, and software to help California water systems execute and organize their sampling programs. Our Sample Manager software keeps monitoring requirements, schedules, tasks, and results organized in one place — automatically syncing with regulatory databases so nothing slips through.

Beyond Sample Manager, 120Water also supports:

  • Service Line Inventory Development (LCRR and LCRI)
  • Verifying Unknown Service Lines
  • Replacement Strategy
  • Public Communications
  • Broader water quality testing (LCR, Schools and Facilities)
  • PFAS Monitoring

120Water’s team knows this space well and helps utilities stay ahead of evolving federal and state requirements, such as the LCRI.

CRWA PREFERRED PROVIDER PROGRAM

The California Rural Water Association (CRWA) continues to expand its Preferred Provider Program, which connects members with vetted service providers offering essential services such as laboratory testing, leak detection, online payment solutions, legal services, rate studies, and consulting.

Currently, 13 providers actively participate in the program, each meeting CRWA’s high standards of professionalism. This includes maintaining Associate Member status in good standing, advertising in the California Water Journal, and exhibiting at the CRWA Annual Expo. In addition to these requirements, prospective providers must submit a formal RFP detailing their services, pricing structure, and proof of liability insurance.

CRWA supports Preferred Providers through free marketing, email campaigns, social media promotion, and workshop coordination. CRWA also encourages all staff from both CRWA and SUSP (Operations and Engineering) to recommend the Preferred Provider Program to systems whenever possible. By recommending the Preferred Provider Program, CRWA staff not only help CRWA members but also the association.

Associate Members interested in CRWA’s Preferred Provider Program should watch for the RFP release on November 1st. For more information, please contact lcarmona@calrualwater.org.
