California Rural Water Association, in partnership with Mojave Water Agency, is offering a series of free trainings designed to enhance your knowledge of the water industry.
Emerging Contaminants with an emphasis on Nitrates & Chromium 6
This course explores the problems with contaminants of emerging concern toxicity, the source of these contaminants, and the treatment modalities that are used to remove them from water/wastewater effluents. At the end of the course, you should be able to:
Explain the reason that contaminants of emerging concern are a concern.
Describe the sources of contaminants of emerging concern in the environment and
water/wastewater influents.
Identify contaminants of emerging concern in water/wastewater influents and effluents.
Describe the methods that are used to treat contaminants of emerging concern in water treatment plants.

- Class: 9:00 am – 12:30 pm
General Information:
Continuing Education & Contact Hours: Students must attend all three hours of class to earn three IACET continuing education units. Those who attend partially or do not pass the final exam will earn one contact hour for each hour of class attended. Participants will also receive State Water Resource Control Board (SWRCB) contact hours and Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) CEUs earned in this class.
This is a no-cost workshop.
