California Rural Water Association Workforce Development Presents
Distribution Certification Review Training
California Rural Water Association (CRWA) offers two-day review classes to enhance your working knowledge of water distribution. Classes include a pre-test, detailed instruction on the distribution operators’ expected range of expertise, and practice exams. This format helps operators brush up on the many aspects of distribution systems and assists students with test-taking skills.
Upon successful completion of the class, students will be able to:
- Learners can calculate square feet, cubic feet, volume, conversion of flows, pounds formula, mg/l, flow, and head.
- Learners will be able to successfully summarize the factors that influence disinfection and describe the several types of disinfectants.
- The learner will successfully explain reducing agents, trihalomethanes, and breakpoint chlorination.
- Leaners will be able to relate the factors that affect Cl2 disinfection successfully.
- The learner will describe the safety tips for handling Cl2 gas cylinders.
- The learner will identify the different types of Cl2 equipment and their uses.
- Learning successfully identifies the importance of proper system surveillance, water quality monitoring, and cross-connection.
- The learner will define pipe maintenance and pipe features.
- Leamer will successfully explain the significance of lockout/tagout standards and monitoring equipment.
- Learners will be able to successfully identify the standards of trenching and shoring safety.
- Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will earn twelve contact hours and 1.2 CEUs

Contact Hours: Each day of class is worth 6 SWRCB Contact Hours and 6 REHS CEUs = 12 SWRCB Water Contact Hours and 1.2 IACET and REHS CEUs
