SAN GORGONIO PASS WATER AGENCY FALL TRAINING WORKSHOP

California Rural Water Association in partnership with the San Gorgonio Pass Water Agency is offering a series of free trainings designed to enhance your knowledge of the water industry.
These no-cost workshops are beneficial for Water Operators and System Managers of Private, Public and Tribal Systems.

Through your Local Primacy Agency (LPA) or your State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) partnership with the public water system, you can identify significant contributing factors that introduce bacteria in the drinking water system. These could be potential or some problem areas in your water system. We will discuss the causes. What can you do? This presentation will help you learn how! Through dedication to preventative maintenance on your part, you can minimize the occurrence of boil water orders in your system, which in turn lowers the public health risk.

Course Learning Objectives Include:
What is a Boil Water Order? A BWO is issued when more than one monthly sample is total coliform positive or if any sample is positive for E. coli or fecal coliform. Coliform bacteria are naturally present in the environment and are used as an indicator that other potentially harmful bacteria may be present. Fecal coliforms and E. coli indicate that the water may be contaminated with human or animal waste. The contamination of a water system creates health risks for the consumer as well as major inconveniences during the time of the BWO.

General Information:

  • A confirmation will be EMAILED to you WITH INSTRUCTIONS, please make sure your email address is valid.
  • All registrants who have registered and paid for the class will receive their certificates within two weeks of the class date.
  • Cancellations must be received by CRWA in writing five business days prior to the event to qualify for a refund.
  • Cancellations received within this time frame, will be subject to a refund less a $25 processing fee.
  • All class transfer requests must be received five business days prior to class and are subject to CRWA approval. Transfers will only be valid within the same calendar year.
