Preferred Provider Spotlight: Waterly

By Luis Carmona, Resource Development Coordinator

Waterly is made by water operators for water operators. Designed with real-world utility operations in mind, Waterly is an affordable and easy-to-use platform that supports both data and asset management through two main tools: Waterly Core and Waterly Assets.

Waterly Core replaces error-prone spreadsheets and clipboards with a streamlined app. It allows for quick data entry, automatic calculations, and out-of-range alerts that appear both in the app and via email. Waterly Core also offers integration options for SCADA data. The dashboard highlights out-of-range metrics and provides flexible data trending, viewable in graphs or tables. Waterly Core’s reporting tool is customizable and developed with input from state agencies to meet compliance needs. Reports can be submitted digitally or downloaded instantly as PDFs or CSVs.

Waterly Assets provides a digital solution for managing infrastructure, planning, and budgeting. Operators can create digital work orders, service requests, and preventative maintenance tasks, complete with due dates, recurrences, and assignees. The dashboard gives an overview of each team member’s tasks and includes a calendar to view scheduled work for the month. Sections are customizable, allowing users to highlight the information most important to them. The asset hierarchy provides a map view and 360˚ view of all of your assets linked to details of each asset including open work orders, PM orders, and documentation such as maintenance manuals.

Waterly was made to simplify operations for CRWA Members of all sizes. Waterly is priced by average daily flow so it is affordable for utilities of all sizes with special pricing for very small systems!

Through its partnership with CRWA, Waterly offers a 15% discount on annual subscriptions to CRWA member communities—continuing its mission to support rural California systems in their digital transformation.

About the CRWA Preferred Provider Program

The California Rural Water Association (CRWA) continues to expand its Preferred Provider Program, which connects members with vetted service providers offering essential services such as laboratory testing, leak detection, online payment solutions, legal services, rate studies, and consulting.

Currently, 13 providers actively participate in the program, each meeting CRWA’s high standards of professionalism. This includes maintaining Associate Member status in good standing, advertising in the California Water Journal, and exhibiting at the CRWA Annual Expo. In addition to these requirements, prospective providers must submit a formal RFP detailing their services, pricing structure, and proof of liability insurance.

CRWA supports Preferred Providers through free marketing, email campaigns, social media promotion, and workshop coordination. CRWA also encourages all staff from both CRWA and SUSP (Operations and Engineering) to recommend the Preferred Provider Program to systems whenever possible. By recommending the Preferred Provider Program, CRWA staff not only help CRWA members but also the association.
