Program offers valuable services to rural water systems across California
The California Rural Water Association (CRWA) started the Preferred Provider Program in January 2009 and has had ongoing success in offering value added services to members of CRWA.
Currently, the program has eighteen providers offering a range of services, including laboratory testing, leak detection, online payment solution, legal services, rate studies, and consulting. This program is designed to connect CRWA members with carefully vetted service providers who offer competitive pricing and the high standard of service that CRWA members expect.
To become a Preferred Provider, companies must meet certain requirements, such as being an Associate Member of CRWA, advertising in the CRWA California Water Journal, and demonstrating the ability to provide relevant services to all CRWA members throughout California. Additionally, Preferred Providers must also exhibit at CRWA’s annual Expo, maintain a link to CRWA on their website, and follow CRWA’s Professionalism Member Service Standards. Furthermore, before joining the program, prospective Preferred Providers must submit an RFP that demonstrates the company’s proposed marketing pieces, discounted pricing for all CRWA members, royalty payments to CRWA, and proof of liability insurance.
CRWA supports these Preferred Providers by offering free marketing through emails, direct mail, and social media. The program can also provide assistance in coordinating workshops, both in-person and online. CRWA promotes the Preferred Provider Program in all our promotional material and at all CRWA events (including EXPO). CRWA also encourages all staff from both CRWA and SUSP (Operations and Engineering) to recommend the Preferred Provider Program to systems whenever possible. By recommending the Preferred Provider Program, CRWA staff not only help CRWA members but also the association.
