Distribution Certification Review (Grade 3)

2024 SCHEDULE

California Rural Water Association (CRWA) offers two-day certification review classes to enhance operators’ knowledge of distribution grade 3. The courses include a pre-test, detailed instruction on distribution operators’ expected range of expertise, and practice exams. This format refreshes operators on the many aspects of distribution systems and helps sharpen their test-taking skills.
Upon successful completion of the class, students will be able to:
1. Learner will be able to calculate square feet, cubic feet, volume, conversion of flows, pounds formula, mg/l, flow, and head.
2. The learner will be able to successfully summarize the factors that influence disinfection and describe the several types of disinfectants.
3. Learner will successfully explain reducing agents, trihalomethanes, and breakpoint chlorination.
4. Leaner will be able to, successfully relate the factors that affect Cl2 disinfection.
5. The learner will describe the safety tips for handling Cl2 gas cylinders.
6. The learner will identify the different types of Cl2 equipment and their uses.
7. Learning successfully identifies the importance of proper system surveillance, water quality monitoring, and cross-connection.
8. The learner will define pipe maintenance and pipe features.
9. Leamer will successfully explain the significance of lockout/tagout standards and monitoring equipment.
10. The learner will be able to, successfully identify the standards of trenching and shoring safety.
11. Upon successful completion of this course the learner will earn twelve contact hours and 1.2 CEUs

  • Sign In: 8:00 am
  • Class: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
  • Lunch: 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm (on your own)

  • All registrants who have registered and paid for the class will receive their certificates within two weeks of the class date.
  • Cancellations must be received by CRWA in writing five business days prior to the event to qualify for a refund.
  • Cancellations received within this time frame, will be subject to a refund less a $25 processing fee.
  • All class transfer requests must be received five business days prior to class and are subject to CRWA approval. Transfers will only be valid within the same calendar year.
